Maths eyes trail

Maths Eyes Trail 30/05/2013

We had a great day out yesterday when Mr.O'Riordan, Ms Linnane and our teacher took us on a walking tour of Galway. It was a beautiful sunny day and we wore suncream to protect our skin. We used our "Maths eyes" to answer questions in our booklets about the different things we saw. We had a picnic in Eyre Square and another one in Millenium Park! Here are some of the places we visited:
Eyre Square
Ceannt Station
Supermacs
Shop Street
Courthouse
Salmon Weir Bridge
The Cathedral
Millenium Park playground
Thankfully, we got the 402 bus home to Renmore as we were all tired after all the walking!
Thanks to Mr.O'Riordan for organising a great day out and to Ms Linnane for coming to help out!

Measuring with cubes

We were able to use cubes to measure objects in our class.
We enjoyed guessing first, then we measured to see how good our guesses were.

Maths at the courthouse

We looked at the different shapes we could see at the courthouse. We also had fun learning about the time and looking at the clock on top of the courthouse.
