Thinking for ourselves
Teacher gave us a task today. We had to be super students and solve McGregor's garden problem. He went to bed on Monday with just one flower in his garden and he woke up on Tuesday with two flowers, Wednesday with three flowers. Teacher needed us to work how many flowers would be in his garden on Thursday and Friday. Some children even worked out how many would be in the garden on Saturday and Sunday. We used teddies to help us visualise the flowers in the garden each day. Very clever thinkers in room 2!'

Junior infant patterns
This week we were discussing Patterns in Maths. There are Patterns everywhere... In our houses, at school, on our clothes, on animals, on jewellery. We looked at pictures of Patterns. We made our own Patterns using beads, pegs, counters, cubes and straws.

Learning about capacity
We had lots of fun learning about full and empty today. We learned it could take lots of full small tubs to fill a big tub. (Teacher is sorry for any wet sleeves, the children love to get messy ;) )
