Matching

We played lots of matching games this week. We matched items on the whiteboard, in our books and we even matched our shoes.

The children jumbled up their shoes and paired them up as fast as they could, then the children matched the shoes to the owner.

Sorting farm animals

We have a new bucket of farm animals.

We tried sorting these in as many ways as we could.

We sorted them according to colour, according to the type of animal that they were, and according to whether they are birds or animals.  We love sorting!

Junior infant sorting

We love sorting. Our first sorting activity was sorting colours. Everyone had a bunch of colours to sort by placing them in the correct basket.

Junior infant maths activities

We love maths games. Today we practiced sorting according to size, shape and colour. Some children worked really hard fitting tangrams into shape pictures.

We have been very busy counting and identifying numbers. We like using number fans to find the numbers and colours teacher calls out. We have a race against the clock to see how fast all of the children can find the number.

Another game the children love is number bingo.

 We use lots of interesting things to help us learn our mathematics.

We use our interactive whiteboard and number fans, along with number lines and lots of fun activities and games. Teacher will show you photos of our activities next week.
